Abstract  Lipomatous meningioma (LM) is a form of meningioma metaplasia, which originates from the accumulation of intracellular liposomes caused by metabolic changes. This paper comprehensively introduces the clinical, pathological, pathophysiological and imaging features of lipomatous meningioma. The main clinical symptoms of this disease are seizures and headaches, and the specific clinical manifestations are visual impairment and visual seizures. The symptoms can appear ten years before the diagnosis of LM and can be completely relieved by specific surgery. The CT findings of LM showed low density due to high fat content, while in MRI, the lesions showed high signal intensity and loss of signal in fat suppression sequence T1-T2. Immunohistochemically, fatty meningioma cells were positive for epithelial membrane antigen, vimentin, CD99, S-100 protein and progesterone receptor. In addition, the risk of recurrence of LM is about 17%. At the same time, studies have shown that there is a significant relationship between immunohistochemical and imaging features, so the accurate combination of immunohistochemical and imaging features is helpful for early diagnosis and is the key to the treatment of LM.
