Abstract  Objective To explore the effect of nursing intervention based on "doctor-patient shared decision-making(SDM)" in preimplantation genetic diagnosis/screening (PGD/PGS) patients. Methods A retrospective selection of 82 PGD/PGS patients admitted to Boai Hospital in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province from January 2020 to June 2021 were selected as the research objects. According to the different nursing intervention methods, they were divided into the control group and the study group, with 41 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing intervention, and the study group received “SDM” nursing intervention. The psychological status of patients before intervention and at the end of PGD/PGS (assessed with the self-rating depression scale [SDS] and self-rating anxiety scale[SAS]) were compared between the two groups, the decision-making participation satisfaction (using hospital self-made decision-making participation satisfaction degree questionnaire evaluation) was compared between the two groups. Results Before intervention, the SDS and SAS scores of the two groups were not statistically different (P>0.05). At the end of PGD/PGS, the SDS and SAS scores of the study group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The scores of the study group′s decision-making participation satisfaction questionnaire were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (t=7.020, P<0.001). Conclusion Nursing intervention based on "SDM" can effectively improve the psychological status of PGD/PGS patients and increase their satisfaction with decision-making participation.
