Abstract  Objective To explore the effect of 5E rehabilitation treatment mode in patients with chronic kidney disease(CKD). Methods A total of 60 patients with CKD admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College from May 2020 to February 2021 were selected as the study subjects. The patients were divided into control group (30 cases) and experimental group (30 cases) by random number table method. Traditional nursing was used in the control group, and 5E rehabilitation was used in the experimental group. SF-36 score, daily water intake, daily dietary water content, daily dietary salt content, blood urea nitrogen, blood creatinine and cystatin C levels six months after discharge were compared between two groups before and after intervention. Results Before intervention, there was no significant difference in quality of life scores between the two groups (P>0.05). After intervention, scores of quality of life in experimental group were higher than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Before intervention, there were no significant differences in daily water intake, dietary water content and dietary salt content between two groups (P>0.05). After intervention, the daily water intake, dietary water content and dietary salt content of experimental group were lower than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Six months after discharge, the levels of blood urea nitrogen, serum creatinine and cystatin C in experimental group were lower than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Patients with CKD can not only improve the quality of life, but also reduce the daily water intake, dietary water content, dietary salt content and blood urea nitrogen, blood creatinine, cystatin C levels.
