Abstract Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Wenjing Decoction combined with acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of patients with irregular menstruation. Methods A total of 80 patients with irregular menstruation admitted to Wuhan Jiangxia District Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2018 to June 2020 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into a control group and an observation group by ball-touching method,with 40 patients in each group. The patients in the control group were treated with hormone combined with acupuncture and moxibustion, and the patients in the observation group were treated with Wenjing Decoction on the basis of the control group. The therapeutic effect, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score, endometrial thickness, estradiol (E2),and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effectiveness rate was 97.50% in the observation group, higher than that of the control group accounting for 80.00%, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the menstrual cycle score, menstrual time score, menstrual volume score, and dysmenorrhea score in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, while E2 level and endometrial thickness were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions (P>0.05). Conclusion Combined with acupuncture and moxibustion, Wenjing Decoction has a significant effect on the treatment of irregular menstruation, and the menstrual cycle of patients can be restored, which is worthy of clinical application.
