Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of age on the perinatal complications, neonatal conditions and delivery modes of primary parturient women. Methods A total of 60 cases of primiparas admitted to our hospital from November 2018 to December 2019 were selected as the research objects.According to age, they were divided into control group(30 cases, normal pregnant women) and observation group (30 cases, elderly pregnant women).Complications, neonatal conditions and delivery methods were compared between the two groups. Results The total complication rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The total incidence of neonate-related complications in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).In the observation group, the proportion of primiparas undergoing cesarean section was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).In the observation group, the proportion of primiparas undergoing natural delivery was lower than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The incidence of maternal and infant complications is high in the perinatal period of elderly primiparas. The rate of cesarean section increases.
