Application effect of air pressure wave therapy instrument in elderly patients with lower limbs hemiplegia and cerebral infarction |

Abstract Objective To investigate the application effect of air pressure wave therapy instrument in elderly patients with lower limbs hemiplegia and cerebral infarction.Methods A total of 146 elderly patients with lower limbs hemiplegia and cerebral infarction who treated in the department of neurology of our hospital from January to October 2019 were selected as study objects and divided into the study group and the control group according to the treatment intention of the patients,with 73 cases in each group.The control group received conventional drug treatment and rehabilitation training,while the study group received air pressure wave therapy instrument on the basis of the control group.The stroke scale (NIHSS) scores,the quality of life rating scale (SF-36) scores and lower limb blood flow before treatment and at 10,20,30 d after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results There were no statistically significant differences in NIHSS scores,SF-36 scores and lower limb blood flow in the two groups before treatment (P>0.05).The NIHSS scores of the two groups at 10,20 and 30 d after treatment were lower than those before treatment,the SF-36 scores were higher than those before treatment,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The NIHSS scores of the study group at 10,20 and 30 d after treatment were lower than those of the control group,the SF-36 scores were higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The leg circumferences of the two groups at 10,20 and 30 d after treatment were less than those before treatment,the velocities of flow in femoral vein were higher than those before treatment,the reflux times were shorter than those before treatment,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The leg circumferences of the study group at 10,20 and 30 d after treatment were less than those of the control group,the velocities of flow in femoral vein were higher than those of the control group,the reflux times were shorter than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Air pressure wave therapy instrument combined with conventional drug therapy can effectively improve the nerve function of the elderly patients with lower limbs hemiplegia and cerebral infarction,and play an important role in accelerating the lower extremity blood flow speed and improving the quality of life,which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
