Abstract Objective To explore the situation of nursing continuing education in hospital and provide theoretical basis for nursing management department to develop targeted training programs.Methods A total of 618 nursing staff from Beijing Aerospace General Hospital from November 2018 to October 2019 were selected as the research subjects.A self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate the current situation of nursing staff participating in continuing education.Results The nursing staff aged from 30 to <40 was the largest,accounting for 43.2%.Nursing staff working years in 11 to 20 years was the most,accounting for 46.61%.The number of nursing staff who have obtained professional title above primary level was the largest,accounting for 71.84%.The number of nursing staff with college degree or above was the largest,accounting for 98.22%.The number of hospital nursing staff who had participated in provincial and municipal continuing education programs was the largest,accounting for 84.63%.The number of nursing staff who hoped to obtain education through distance teaching was the largest,accounting for 91.59%.The number of people needing to increase nursing professional knowledge was the largest,accounting for 76.58 %.There was statistical significance in cognition of continuing education among nursing staff of different ages and educational backgrounds(P<0.05).Conclusion Hospital nursing staff has a positive attitude towards continuing education and are aware of the importance of continuing education.The continuing education of nursing staff should be strengthened urgently,and effective training programs should be put forward according to the working conditions of nursing staff,and the importance of continuing education should be strengthened to improve the overall quality of nursing staff and the quality of nursing.
