Abstract  Objective To investigate the early rehabilitation effect after internal fixation of ankle fracture, and to analyse the influencing factors. Methods A total of 60 patients underwent internal fixation of ankle fracture in Chung Yan Hing Memorial Hospital from January 2019 to January 2021 were selected as research objects, and the early rehabilitation training was performed within 12 weeks after surgery. After 12 months after surgery, the patients were divided into excellent ankle function group and poor ankle function group according to the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society(AOFAS)ankle hindfoot score. The influence factors of early rehabilitation effect were analyzed by univariate analysis, and the multivariate logisitic regression was used to analyse the influencing factors of early rehabilitation effect. Results There were 42 patients(70.00%)with excellent ankle function and 18 patients(30.00%)with poor ankle function.Pain score, functional activity score and rear foot arrangement score were(38.45±1.12),(41.60±2.58)and(13.42±1.07)points.The univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences between the proportion of patients with age ≥40 years, time from injury to operation >8 h,without persistence of functional exercise and postoperative complications between poor ankle function group and excellent ankle function group(P<0.05).The multivariate analysis showed that age ≥40 years(β=0.274, OR=1.249,95%CI=1.022-1.615),time from injury to operation >8 h(β=0.285, OR=1.358,95%CI=1.097-1.704),without persistence of functional exercise(β=0.347, OR=1.472,95%CI=1.135-1.890)and postoperative complications(β=0.382, OR=1.375,95%CI=1.119-1.762)were the independent risk factors for poor ankle function in early rehabilitation(P<0.05).Conclusion The early rehabilitation effect after internal fixation of ankle fracture was better, and there were many influencing factors,so the targeted measures should be taken to ensure early rehabilitation effect.
