| Application effect of systematic nursing intervention on constipation in stroke patients with hemiplegia |

Abstract Objective To analyze the effect of systematic nursing intervention on constipation in stroke (CVA)patients with hemiplegia.Methods A total of 300 patients with hemiplegia due to CVA from July 2018 to July 2019 in our hospital were selected as the study subjects.According to the random number table method,they were divided into observation group (n=150)and control group (n=150).The control group received routine nursing methods.The observation group used routine nursing+systematic nursing methods,the incidence of constipation,defecation,and stroke scale(NIHSS)were compared between two groups.Results The incidence of constipation in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).The defecation time of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group,the frequency of defecation per week was more than that of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in constipation symptom score between the two groups before nursing(P＞0.05);the symptom scores(abdominal distension,fecal characteristics,spontaneous defecation and defecation effort)were lower than those before nursing,the symptom scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Comparison of NIHSSscores between the two groups before nursing,the differences had no statistical significance (P＞0.05);the NIHSSscores of the two groups after nursing were lower than those before nursing,and the observation group was lower than the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion Systematic nursing intervention for CVA patients with hemiplegia can reduce the incidence of constipation,shorten the time of defecation,increase the number of bowel movements,and at the same time help improve the patient′s condition,which is worth further promotion and application.
