The correlation between five states personality of traditional chinese medicine and resilience of nursing students

Abstract  Objective To investigate the correlation between five states personality of traditional Chinese medicine and resilience of nursing students. Methods A total of 133 nursing students practicing in the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University in June 2021 were selected to investigate the general data, five personality characteristics and psychological status of the nursing students, and to observe the correlation between the five-state personality and psychological resilience of traditional Chinese medicine. Results The scores of the five personality characteristics of the trainee nursing students were Taiyang type (9.93±3.71) points, Shaoyang type (11.71±4.43) points, Yin-yang balance quality (6.48±2.45) points, and Shaoyin type (13.67±3.34) points. Lunar type (10.47±5.27) points, psychological flexibility score (58.77±15.62) points. Among them, Taiyang, Shaoyang, and Yin-Yang calm personality are positively correlated with mental flexibility (P<0.05), and Taiyin personality is negatively correlated with mental flexibility (P<0.05).Conclusion The five states personality of traditional Chinese medicine of nursing students are related to psychological resilience, which suggests that nursing educators can formulate psychological and behavioral intervention methods of nursing students from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, integrate TCM into nursing education, promote the development of Yin and Yang and peaceful personality, and improve the level of psychological elasticity.
