Effect of blastocyst culture density on embryo development potential of in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer technology |

Abstract Objective To study the effect of blastocyst culture density on embryo development potential of in vitro fertilization embryo transfer (IVF-ET). Methods A total of 235 patients with IVF-ET Foshan Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2019 to December 2019 were selected as subjects, and the 1181 successfully transplanted cleavage embryos were divided into four groups according to the difference in blastocyst culture density, individual cultures were grown in group A, 2 to 3 in group B, 4 to 5 in group C, and more than 6 in group D, there were 269 blastocysts in group A, 298 blastocysts in group B, 304 blastocysts in group C, and 310 blastocysts in group D. Blastocym formation rates, available blastocyst rates, high quality blastocyst level differences, blastocyst implantation rates and clinical pregnancy rates in the 4 groups were compared. Results The blastocyst formation rate, usable blastocyst rate, and highquality blastocyst rate in group C were higher than those in groups A, B, and D, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Blastocysts accounted for stages 4 to 6 in group C was higher than that of groups A, B, and D, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.008). Four groups of embryos form a total of 778 embryo sacs, the blastocyst implantation rate and clinical pregnancy rate of blastocyst formation in group C were higher than those of groups A, B, and D, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.008). Conclusion The blastocyst culture density is 4 to 5 blastocysts. The development potential of blastocysts is good. The results in all aspects are better that those of other quantities. Better, it means that the density of blastocyst culture should not be too high or too small.
