Abstract Objective The application value of the combined application scheme of WeChat platform and mobile health software in the elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).Methods A total of 100 elderly patients with COPD who were discharged from our hospital from March 2016 to April 2018 were selected as the research subjects.They were divided into the study group (n=50) and control group (n=50) according to the random number table method.Patients in the control group were given health lectures and telephone follow-up methods.Patients in the study group were given combined application scheme of WeChat platform and mobile health software.The self-efficacy level, management level, and medication compliance were compared between the two groups.Results In the study group, patients′self-management level (including symptom management score, emotional management score, daily life score, self-efficacy score, and information management score), efficacy levels (including negative scores, emotional scores, physical activity scores, environmental scores, and risk behavior scores) and medication compliance were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The combined application scheme of WeChat platform and mobile health software has high application value for the continuous care of elderly patients with COPD, and it is worthy of widespread clinical application.
