Application of expectoration machine in expectoration of patients with acquired weakness in ICU |

Abstract Objective To explore the application of expectoration machine in expectoration of patients with acquired weakness in ICU.Methods From February to November 2018, 90 patients diagnosed with acquired debilitating disease in the ICU of our hospital were selected as the research objects.They were divided into a control group and an observation group by random number table method, with 45 cases in each group.Both groups were treated with conventional treatment and nursing, and the observation group added sputum machine treatment based on conventional treatment and nursing.The mechanical ventilation time, ICU hospital stay, and Medical Research Council (MR C) scores of the two groups were compared and analyzed.Results There was no significant difference in sputum excretion between th e two groups of patients 1 d before enrollment (P>0.05).The sputum output of the observation group on the days 1 to 3 of treatment was higher than th at of the control group, the sputum output on days 4 to 5 of treatment was lower than that in the control group, and the differences were sta tistically significant (P<0.05).The pressure support/pressure control and airway resistance of the observation group after 48 hours of treatment were lower than those of the control group,and the lung compliance and cough peak flow rate we re higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The mechanical ventilation time and I CU hospitalization time in the observation group were shorter than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05);but the MRC grade comparison between the two groups of patients, the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05).Conclusion The applicat ion of expectoration machine in ICU-acquired weakness patients with mechanical ventilation can improve the expectoration effect, improve the respira tory function, shorten the time of mechanical ventilation and ICU hospitalization, and improve the clinical treatment effect.
