Abstract Objective To explore the effect of Metformin combined with Irbesartan in the treatment of diabetes with hyperuricemia. Methods A tatal of 80 patients with diabetes and hyperuricemia received in our hospital from January 2017 to August 2019 were selected as the research object and divided into control group and experimental group by the random number table method, each with 40 cases. The control group accepted Metformin on the basis of conventional treatment, and the experimental group accepted Irbesartan in combination with the control group. The blood glucose index, insulin resistance index, body mass index changes, and serum uric acid levels were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the fasting blood glucose, 2h postprandial blood glucose, and glycated hemoglobin levels in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05);after treatment, the insulin resistance index, body mass index, and serum uric acid levels in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Metformin combined with Irbesartan can reduce the body mass index of patients with diabetes and hyperuricemia, correct insulin resistance, regulate blood glucose metabolism, and reduce serum uric acid levels.
