Abstract Objective To analyze and explore the effect and safety of laparoscopic radical prostatectomy in the treatment of prostate cancer. Methods A total of 66 patients with prostate cancer in the Department of Urology of Jilin Cancer Hospital from September 2017 to September 2019 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into the control group and the observation group by random number table method, with 33 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were treated with laparoscopic radical prostatectomy via abdominal approach, and the patients in the observation group were treated with laparoscopic radical prostatectomy via extraperitoneal approach.Surgical indicators, complications, positive rate of surgical margin and total effective rate were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time, postoperative catheter indwelling time, postoperative fluid feeding time, postoperative drainage tube removal time and hospital stay in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in intraoperative blood loss between the two groups(P>0.05).The total incidence of complications in observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the positive rate of surgical margin between the two groups(P>0.05).The total effective rate of observation group was higher than that of control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The effect of extraperitoneal laparoscopic radical prostatectomy in the treatment of prostate cancer is remarkable and worthy of clinical implementation and development.
