| Clinical effect of Xiaoying Ruanjian Powder combined with Methimazole on hyperthyroidism |

Abstract Objective To explore the clinical effect of Xiaoying Ruanjian Powder combined with Methimazole in the treatment of hyperthyroidism.Methods A total of 60 hyperthyroidism patients were admitted to Pingxiang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2016 to December 2019 were selected as the research objects.They were divided into the control group (30 cases)and the treatment group (30 cases)according to coin flipping method.The control group was given oral Methimazole tablets for 1.5 years.The treatment group was given the same treatment as the control group,plus Xiaoying Ruanjian Powder for 8 weeks.The treatment effect,thyroid function,thyroid related antibody,thyroid volume changes and disease recurrence within 6 months after treatment were compared between the two groups after 8 weeks.Results Total effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group,with statistically significant difference (P＜0.05).Before treatment,there were no statistically significant differences of the serum free triiodothyronine(FT3),free thyroid hormone(FT4),thyroid-stimulating hormone(TSH),thyrotropin receptor antibody (TRAb)between the two groups(P＞0.05).After treatment,the levels of the FT3,FT4,TSH,TRAb of the two groups were lower than those before treatment,with statistically significant differences (P＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of the FT3,FT4,TSH,TRAb of the treatment group were lower than those of the control group in the same period,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).Before treatment,there was no statistically significant difference of the thyroid volume between the two groups (P＞0.05).After treatment,the thyroid volume of the two groups were smaller than those before treatment,and the thyroid volume of the treatment group was smaller than that of the control group in the same period,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).The recurernce rate of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group,with statistically significant difference (P＜0.05).Conclusion Compared with Xiaoying Ruanjian Powder combined with oral Methimazole,oral Methimazole combined with external application in the treatment of hyperthyroidism can improve the clinical symptoms and thyroid function of patients with hyperthyroidism more effectively and reduce the recurrence rate of the disease.
