Abstract Objective To investigate the stone removal rate and complications correlation of S.T.O.N.E scoring system in minimally invasive percutaneous nephroscope technique(MPCNL)treatment of renal calculi after upper urinary tract opening.Methods Retrospective analysis of the data of 82 patients with renal calculi who received MPCNL from the same group of doctors in the Department of Urology,Pingxiang People′s Hospital from January 2014 to January 2020.According to the status of postoperative stone removal,they were divided into the stone removal group (57 cases)and the stone residue group (25 cases).According to the occurrence of postoperative complications,the selected patients were divided into the complication group(38 cases)and the non-complication group(44 cases).At the same time,the postoperative complications were graded according to Clavien classification system,the patients were divided into the mild complication group(23 cases)and the severe complication group(15 cases).The S.T.O.N.E.renal stone scores of the stone removal group and the stone residue group,and the differences of S.T.O.N.E.renal stone scores between the non-complication group,the mild complication group and the severe complication group were compared,and the relationship between S.T.O.N.E.score and stone removal rate and postoperative complications was analyzed.Results The scores of S,N,E and total score of the stone removal group were lower than those of stone residue group,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).The stone clearance rate were related to S.T.O.N.E.score,S score,N score and E score(P＜0.05).The stone clearance rate had no relationship with T score and O score(P＞0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that S.T.O.N.E.score,S score,N score and E score were the risk factors of stone clearance(P＜0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that S.T.O.N.E.score was negatively correlated with stone clearance (r=-0.712,P=0.018),S score was negatively correlated with stone clearance(r=-0.685,P=0.021),N score was negatively correlated with stone clearance(r=-0.637,P=0.025),and E score was negatively correlated with stone clearance(r=-0.526,P=0.034).There was no significant difference in the scores of S.T.O.N.E.scoring system between the uncomplicated group,the mild complication group and the severe complication group (P＞0.05),And there was no statistically significant difference in S.T.O.N.E.scoring system scores between the three groups pairwise comparison(P>0.05).S.T.O.N.E.score,S score,T score,O score,N score and E score were not risk factors for complications(P＞0.05).Conclusion S.T.O.N.E.scoring system has a negative correlation with the stone removal rate of renal calculi after upper urinary tract opening in MPCNL treatment,but the correlation with complications needs to be further verified.
