| Effect of Xiba Acupuncture combined with modified Duhuo Jisheng Decoction on primary knee osteoarthritis |

Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of Xiba Acupuncture combined with modified Duhuo Jisheng Decoction on primary knee osteoarthritis.Methods A total of 114 patients with primary knee osteoarthritis admitted to Xinyang Central Hospital from September 2019 to September 2020 were selected and divided into control group(57 cases)and study group(57 cases)according to random number table method.The control group was treated with conventional western medicine,and the study group was treated with Xiba Acupuncture combined with modified Duhuo Jisheng Decoction.Clinical efficacy,inflammatory cytokines,levels of synovial fluid related cytokines,knee function and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the study group was 91.22%,higher than that of the control group(77.19%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor(TNF-α)and hypersensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)in the two groups were lower than before treatment,and the levels of various inflammatory factors in the study group were lower than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of osteopontin(OPN)and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)in the two groups were lower than before treatment,and the level of osteoprotective hormone(OPG)were higher than before treatment,and the levels of OPN and VEGF in the study group were lower than those of the control group,and OPG was higher than that of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The excellent and good rate of knee function in the study group was 85.96%,which was higher than that in the control group(70.18%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The application of Xiba Acupuncture combined with modified Duhuo Jisheng Decoction in the treatment of primary knee osteoarthritis has significant effects,which can improve the level of cytokines related to synovial fluid,reduce the level of inflammatory factors,and is conducive to the recovery of knee function.It is worth popularizing
