Abstract Objective To study the effect of Carboprost Suppositories on preventing postpartum hemorrhage and improving uterine involution.Methods A total of 130 primiparae who were treated in the Shuyang Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine from May 2016 to December 2018 were selected and divided into two groups according to random number table method,65 cases in each group.In the control group,primiparae were treated with Oxytocin,and in the observation group,they were added with Carboprost Suppositories.These primiparous clinical effects of the two groups were analyzed.Results The intensity of uterine contractions at 10,30 and 60 min in the observation group were(8.20±1.52),（12.75±1.96）and(37.18±5.66)kPa,which were all stronger than those of control group of(5.98±1.46),(10.13±2.11),and(29.22±5.41)kPa(P<0.05).In the observation group,the amount of bleeding at 2 and 24 h after delivery were(135.85±24.52)and(251.03±47.55)mL,hemoglobin(Hb)decrease was(5.16±2.55)g/L,the hematocrit value(HCT)decrease was(2.96±1.14)%,and the postpartum hemorrhage rate was 0%,which were lower than those of the control group of(218.23±31.63)mL,(411.02±59.68)mL,(15.44±3.96)g/L,(7.45±1.87)%,and 6.15%,respectively(P<0.05).The uterine size at 42 d after delivery in the observation was(17.25±2.11)cm3,lower than that of the control group of(23.52±3.05)cm3,the duration in the observation of lochia was(20.86±8.41)d,shorter than that of the control group of(27.14±12.02)d(P<0.05).There was no statistical significance on height of uterine fundus at 42 d after delivery between the observation group of(0.35±0.13)cm and the control group of(0.38±0.11)cm,the difference had no statistical significance(P＞0.05).Conclusion Carboprost Suppositories can effectively prevent postpartum hemorrhage,strengthen the intensity of uterine contractions,reduce the rate of postoperative bleeding,promote uterine involution.
