Abstract Objective To study the effect of modified lateral superior malleolar perforator flap in the treatment of soft tissue defect after calcaneus operation. Methods A total of 86 patients with soft tissue defect after calcaneal surgery admitted to the Department of Orthopedics in the Third People′s Hospital of Jingzhou City,Hubei Province from January 2018 to January 2019 were selected as the research objects.According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group and the study group, with 43 patients in each group.Patients in the control group were treated with traditional flap repair, and patients in the study group were treated with modified lateral supramolleolar perforator flap repair. The incidence of complications, heel shape score at 12 months and postoperative indexes were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in the total incidence of complications between the study group(6.98%)and the control group(11.63%)(P>0.05).There were no significant differences between the study group and the control group in flap color and flap temperature scores of heel shape score at 12 months after surgery(P>0.05).The scores of local scar and wound healing in the study group of heel shape score at 12 months after surgery were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The duration of swelling relief and pain relief in the study group were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion When the modified superior perforator flap is used to repair the soft tissue defect after calcaneal surgery,it can obtain the ideal repair effect, reduce the complications, alleviate the pain and swelling of the patients, and shorten the hospital stay,it is worth popularizing and applying.
