Application of collaborative nursing model in patients with dementia |

Abstract Objective To explore the application effect of collaborative nursing model in patients with dementia.Methods A total of 200 patients with dementia from April 2020 to March 2021 treated in Shenyang Watson Jingan Mental Health Hospital and Shenyang Anning Hospital were selected as the research subjects.According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group and the observation group, 100 cases in each group.Patients in the control group adopted conventional nursing intervention measures, and patients in the observation group adopted collaborative nursing model, to observe the personality changes, hallucinations, delusions, depression, behavior problems, and identification errors of the two groups before and after the intervention.The incidence of adverse events,compliance, and satisfaction of patients′ family members were observed.Results Before the intervention, there were no significant differences in the incidence rates of personality changes, hallucinations, delusions, depression, behavior problems, or identification errors between the two groups of patients (P>0.05).After the intervention, the incidence rates of personality changes, hallucinations, delusions, depression, behavior problems and identification errors in the two groups were lower than those before the intervention, the incidence rates of personality changes, hallucinations, delusions, depression, behavior problems and identification errors in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The incidence of adverse events in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, compliance and satisfaction of patients′ family members were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The application of the collaborative care model to patients with dementia can improve the behavioral and psychiatric symptoms of patients,reduce the incidence of adverse events, and improve compliance and satisfaction.
