| Application of humanized communication combined with self-identified psychological nursing in the prevention of self-harm/suicide behaviors in male psychosis patients |

Abstract Objective To explore the application effect of humanized communication combined with self-identified psychological nursing in the prevention of self-harm/suicide behaviors in male psychosis patients.Methods A total of 84 inpatient male psychosis patients confirmed in Shangrao Third People′s Hospital in Jiangxi Province from January 2019 to August 2020 were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group by random number table method, 42 cases in each group.The control group was given self-identified psychological nursing, while the observation group was given humanized communication combined with self-identified psychological nursing.Both groups were intervened for 30 d.The differences in the incidence of adverse events (self-harm, suicide) and scores of quality of life (physiological function, physical pain, social function, mental health) before and after intervention were compared between the two groups.Results After intervention, the incidence of self-harm and suicide in both groups were lower than those before intervention, the incidence of self-harm and suicide in the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).After intervention, scores of physiological function, physical pain, social function and mental health in both groups were lower than those before intervention,scores of physiological function, physical pain, social function and mental health in the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).Conclusion The application of humanized communication combined with self-identified psychological nursing can reduce the incidence of selfharm/suicide and other harmful behaviors in male psychosis patients, and improve the overall quality of life.
