Abstract  Objective To investigate the effect of different commercial culture media on the clinical and birth outcomes of in vitro cultured embryos. Methods The clinical data of 1 540 oocyte retrieval cycles meeting the inclusion criteria from January 2020 to October 2021 were analyzed retrospectively according to the use of different commercial culture media, including 831 cycles in Vitrolife group and 709 cycles in Cook group to compare the in vitro embryo development and clinical outcomes of the two groups. Results The D3 high-quality embryo rate (69.63%vs.67.54%),rate of blastocyst formation(53.47%vs.49.01%),rate of blastocyst formation can be utilized(46.72%vs.42.70%)and D5 rate of blastocyst formation can be utilized (35.03%vs.30.32%)in the Cook group were higher than those in the Vitrolife group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Culture media may affect the formation of high-quality embryos and blastocysts during in vitro insemination and embryo transfer cycles.
