Abstract Objective To investigate the effects of pulp revascularization with platelet-rich fibrin(PRF)and apexification in the treatment of immature permanent teeth with pulp necrosis. Methods A total of 80 children with pulp necrosis of immature permanent teeth who were admitted to the Department of Stomatology,Pingxiang People's Hospital from January 2019 to June 2021 were selected as the research subjects.According to random number table method, the subjects were divided into induction group(n=40,40 affected teeth)and reconstruction group(n=40,40 affected teeth).Children in the induction group were treated with apexification, while children in the reconstruction group were treated with pulp revascularization with PRF.Compare the root length, root area and root canal wall thickness of the two groups before treatment,6 months after treatment and 12 months after treatment,as well as the satisfaction score and curative effect of the children's family members. Results After 6 months of treatment and 12 months of treatment, the root length of children in the reconstruction group and the induction group was longer than that before treatment, the root area was larger than that before treatment, and the thickness of root canal wall was higher than that before treatment, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).After 6 months of treatment and 12 months of treatment, the root length of the reconstruction group was longer than that of the induction group, the root area was larger than that of the induction group, and the root canal wall thickness was higher than that of the induction group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The satisfaction scores of the family members of the children in the reconstruction group on the degree of occlusion, masticatory function, color and overall beauty were higher than those of the family members in the induction group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the reconstruction group was higher than that of the induction group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with apexification, pulp revascularization with PRF is more effective in treating immature permanent teeth pulp necrosis. The latter is beneficial to promote teeth development and improve the satisfaction of children's families.
