Abstract  Objective To compare the application value of three-layer tight suture method and Allgower-Donati suture method in patients with Sanders Ⅲtype calcaneal fracture. Methods A total of 83 patients with Sanders type Ⅲcalcaneal fractures from June 2017 to June 2020 in Lishui Branch Hospital of Zhongda Hospital Affiliated to Southeast University were selected as the research objects. According to the different surgical suture methods, they were divided into the observation group of 43 cases and the control group of 40 cases. The observation group was given three-layer tight suture method, and the control group was given Allgower-Donati suture method. The surgical efficacy, surgical related indicators, postoperative recovery and the total incidence of postoperative incision complications were compared between the two groups. The postoperative Maryland score, visual analog scale (VAS) score and changes in incision skin temperature were observed between the two groups. Results There was no statistically significant difference in the excellent and good rate between the two groups (P>0.05). The Maryland score of the observation group at 1 month after surgery of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the VAS score at 3 days after surgery of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the operation time and postoperative drainage time between the two groups (P>0.05). The skin incision suture time of the observation group was longer than that of the control group, and the area of skin inflammation around the incision of the observation group was smaller than that of the control group, and the healing time of incision of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the fracture healing time between the two groups (P>0.05). The incision skin temperature of the observation group at 2 and 3 days after surgery were higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the total incidence of postoperative incision complications between the two groups (P >0.05). Conclusion Compared with the Allgower-Donati suture method, the three-layer tight suture method in Sanders type Ⅲcalcaneal fracture operation can promote the healing of the incision, reduce postoperative pain, and reduce the area of skin inflammation.
