Clinical effect of laser photocoagulation in the treatment of proliferative diabetic retinopathy |

Abstract Objective To analyze the clinical effect of laser photocoagulation in the treatment of patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy. Methods A total of 150 patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy admitted in Yangjiang People′s Hospital from January 2019 to December 2020 were selected as the research subjects. The patients were divided into the observation group (75 cases) and the control group (75 cases) according to random number table method.The patients in the observation group were treated with laser photocoagulation, and the patients in the control group were treated with conbercept intravitreal injection therapy. The recovery of eye function, the incidence of adverse events, the improvement of visual acuity and the treatment effect were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results Before treatment, there was no significant difference in foveal volume and macular retinal thickness between the two groups (P>0.05). The foveal volume and macular retinal thickness in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).After treatment,there was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse events such as elevated intraocular pressure, bleeding,congestion and recurrence between the two groups (P>0.05). The good visual acuity rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of laser photocoagulation in the treatment of proliferative diabetic retinopathy can help patients recover visual ability better. It has important significance for improving their ocular function, and has high safety. It is worthy of popularization and application.
