Therapeutic effect of Cetirizine combined with Budesonide Suspension for inhalation in children with acute asthma attack |

Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of Cetirizine combined with Budesonide Suspension for inhalation in the treatment of children with acute asthma attack. Methods The clinical data of 106 children with acute asthma treated in Fuxin Mining General Hospital of Liaoning Health Industry Group from January 2019 to January 2021 were analyzed retrospectively. According to the treatment scheme, they were divided into routine group (53 cases) and experimental group (53 cases). The routine group was treated with Budesonide Suspension, The experimental group was treated with Cetirizine combined with Budesonide Suspension for inhalation. The curative effect, symptom improvement time, pulmonary function (forced expiratory volume in the first second [FEV1], forced vital capacity [FVC]), serum T lymphocyte subsets (CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, CD4+/CD8+) and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the experimental group was higher than that in the conventional group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The duration of wheezing, the disappearance time of cough, and the disappearance time of wheezing in the experimental group were shorter than those in the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The levels of FEV1 and FVC in the experimental group were higher than those in the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of CD3+, CD4+, CD4+/CD8+ in the experimental group were higher than those in the conventional group, and the level of CD8+ was lower than that in the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Cetirizine combined with Budesonide suspension for inhalation has a significant clinical effect in the treatment of acute asthma attacks, which can effectively shorten the time of symptom improvement in children, promote the recovery of lung function, and improve the body′s immunity, and it doesn′t increase adverse reactions.
