Abstract Objective To explore the effectiveness and safety of coronary rotational atherectomy (CRA)and cutting balloon in the treatment of coronary calcification. Methods A total of 100 patients with severe coronary calcification undergoing intervention therapy in Jiangxi People's Hospital from April to October 2020 were enrolled as the research objects.According to random number table method, they were divided into observation group(50 cases)and control group(50 cases)the observation group received CRA,the control group received cutting balloon. The surgical parameters, intraoperative complications, surgical success rate and follow-up results were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time in observation group was shorter that of control group, and incidence of intraoperative complications in observation group was lower than that in control group, obtained lumen area immediately after surgery and the minimum in-stent lumen area were larger than those in control group, with statistical significances (P<0.05).The total incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events in observation group was lower than that in control group, with statistical significance (P<0.05).Conclusion The safety and effectiveness of CRA are high in the pretreatment of patients with severe coronary calcification.
