Abstract Objective To explorer the effects of Escitalopram combined with high-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on event-related potential P300 and mismatch negativity (MMN) in the treatment of first-episode depression. Methods A total of 100 patients with first-episode depression treated in Dongguan Seventh People's Hospital from October 2021 to March 2022 were selected as research objects, and they were divided into single drug treatment group and combined treatment group according to random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. The single drug treatment group was treated with Escitalopram combined with pseudo stimulation, and the combined treatment group was treated with Escitalopram combined with high-frequency rTMS.After 8 weeks of continuous treatment, the depression status (Hamilton depression scale-17 [HAMD-17]),cognitive function (Montreal cognitive assessment[MoCA]),event-related potential P300 and mismatch negativity(MMN)were compared between the two groups. Results The HAMD-17 score of the two groups at the end of the 8th week of treatment were lower than those before treatment, and the combined treatment group was lower than that of the single drug treatment group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The MOCA score of the two groups at the end of the 8th week of treatment were higher than those before treatment, and the combined treatment group was higher than that of the single drug treatment group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05).At the end of the 8th week after treatment, the latency of event-related potentials N1,P2,N2,P3 and MMN in the two groups were shorter than those before treatment, and the amplitude was higher than that before treatment, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The latency of event-related potentials N1,P2,N2,P3 and MMN in the combined treatment group at the 8th weekend were shorter than those in the single drug treatment group, and the amplitude was higher than that in the single drug treatment group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05).Conclusion Escitalopram combined with high-frequency rTMS can further reduce the depressive state of patients with first-episode depression, improve the response to event-related potentials P300 and MMN,and promote the recovery of cognitive function, which is worthy of promotion.
