Abstract Objective To investigate the efficacy of Compound Glycyrrhizin in children with cytomegalovirus(CMV)infection and liver damage. Methods A total of 120 children with CMV infection and liver damage admitted to Jiangxi Children′s Hospital from July 2020 to July 2021 were selected as the research objects and divided into control group(60 cases)and observation group(60 cases)according to the random number table method. The control group was treated with Ganciclovir Antiviral combined with Reduced Glutathione, and the observation group was treated with Compound Glycyrrhizin on the basis of the control group. The levels of CMV-DNA copy number, alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),alkaline phosphatase(AKP),lymphocyte subsets(CD3+,CD4+,CD8+and CD4+/CD8+)in peripheral blood, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results There were no significant differences in CMV-DNA copy number,ALT,AST and AKP between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).The CMV-DNA copy number,ALT,AST and AKP in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in lymphocyte subsets between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, the levels of CD3+and CD8+in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, while the levels of CD4+and CD4+/CD8+in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 3.33%,which was lower than 25.00% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Basic treatment combined with Compound Glycyrrhizin is more effective in the treatment of CMV infection complicated with liver damage.
