Abstract Objective To explore the influence of home enteral nutrition on nutritional status in patients after radical gastrectomy. Methods A total of 115 patients undergoing radical gastrectomy from August to December 2018 were selected as the research objects, and they were divided into the study group (47 cases) and the control group (68 cases) according to random number table method. The patients in the study group received home enteral nutrition combined with regular diet education after discharge, while the patients in the control group only received regular diet education after discharge. The changes in body weight, nutritional indexes and immunity indexes were compared. Results The body weight of the two groups at 30 and 60 days after discharge were lower than those before discharge, and the body weight loss of the study group at 60 days after discharge was lower than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The levels of serum total protein and serum albumin in the two groups at 30 days after discharge were lower than those before discharge, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the body weight between the two groups at 30 and 60 days after discharge (P>0.05). There were no significant differences in the body weight and the body weight loss between the two group after 60 days of discharge and 30 days of discharge (P>0.05). There were no significant differences in the levels of serum total protein, serum albumin and hemoglobin at 30 days after discharge, as well as the levels of CD3, CD4, CD8 and CD4/CD8 at 30 days after discharge between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Family enteral nutrition can maintain the body weight of patients, reduce the body weight loss of patients, and improve the nutritional status of patients to a certain extent, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
