Application of ultrasound guided adductor tube saphenous nerve block in day surgery for laser closure of great saphenous vein |

Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of ultrasound-guided adductor tube saphenous nerve block in daytime surgery for laser closure of the great saphenous vein. Methods From January to May 2021, 134 patients with varicose veins of the lower extremities who underwent day surgery on the Second Affiliated Hospital of Shandong First Medical University with laser closure of the great saphenous vein were selected as the research objects. According to random number table method, they were divided into observation group and control group, 67 cases in each group. The two groups were blocked under ultrasound guidance. The control group received femoral nerve block, and the observation group received adductor tube saphenous nerve block. The patient was discharged from the hospital after observation.The hemodynamics, pain degree, muscle strength of the lower limbs, first getting out of bed after operation and hospitalization time were compared between the two groups. Results There were no significant differences in heart rate and mean arterial pressure between the two groups before surgery, at the beginning of surgery and 15 min after admission to ward (P>0.05). The visual analog scale (VAS) score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group during operation and 2, 4 and 8 h after operation, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The muscle strength score of lower limbs in the observation group was higher than that in the control group at 2, 4 and 8 h after wards transfer, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The first postoperative ambulation and hospitalization time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Ultrasound-guided adductor tube saphenous nerve block has a definite effect in daytime laser closure of the great saphenous vein, which can ensure the patient′s hemodynamic stability, reduce pain, and have a slight impact on lower limb motor function. Patients can get out of bed earlier after surgery and speed up their recovery after surgery.
