Objective To explore the application value of breastfeeding chair in mother and child co-room ward.Methods A total of 400 pregnant women eligible for breastfeeding in the People′s Hospital of Xiangdong District in Pingxiang City from January 2019 to January 2020 were selected, according to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group and the observation group, with 200 cases in each group. The control group was fed with traditional methods, and the observation group was fed with breastfeeding chair under the guidance of responsible nurses. The start lactation time, the start breastfeeding time, milk secretion, the success rate of pure breastfeeding,breastfeeding comfort and the incidence of nipple chapped were compared between the two groups. Results The starting lactation time and the breast feeding time of the observation group were (23.59±8.41) hours and (57.86±5.47) min respectively, which were shorter than those of the control group of (39.26±9.74) hours and (102.45±25.23) min, the amount of milk secretion of the observation group was more than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). The success rate of pure breastfeeding in the observation group (95.50%) was higher than that in the control group (73.50%), and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). The breastfeeding comfort of the observation group (94.50%) was higher than that of the control group (81.00%), and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). The incidence of nipple chapped in the observation group (3.00%) was lower than that in the control group (14.50%), and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). Conclusion The application of breastfeeding chair in in mother and child co-room ward can reduce all kinds of discomfort during breastfeeding, promote breast milk secretion, effectively improve the success rate of breastfeeding and ensure the health of mothers and child.
