Analysis on the influencing factors of ICU nurses' recessive absenteeism and its correlation with emotional intelligence in tertiary hospitals of Bengbu city |

Abstract Objective To explore the influencing factors of implicit absenteeism and its correlation with emotional intelligence among intensive care unit(ICU)nurses in the tertiary hospitals of Bengbu.Methods A total of 279 ICU nurses in the tertiary hospitals of Bengbu from March to June 2021 were selected as the research subjects.The questionnaires were applied to collect data including demographic information,implicit absenteeism,and emotional intelligence levels.Analyze the influencing factors of implicit absenteeism and the relationship between implicit absenteeism and emotional intelligence.Results The total score of implicit absenteeism and emotional intelligence of ICU nurses were(21.33±5.80)and(121.34±32.81),and there was a negative correlation between implicit absenteeism and emotional intelligence(total score and each dimensions)(P<0.05).Univariate analysis revealed that age,gender,professional title,and average number of night shift per month were the related factors of implicit absenteeism score of ICU nurses(P<0.05).Multivariate analysis of influencing implicit absenteeism scores of ICU nurses revealed that age,gender,professional title,average number of night shifts per month were the influencing factors of implicit absenteeism scores of ICU nurses(P<0.05).Conclusion The ICU nurses had a high level of implicit absenteeism,which was affected by age,gender,professional title,average number of monthly night shift.The high level of emotional intelligence was helpful to reduce the occurrence of implicit absenteeism.
