Effect of crude fiber diet on blood glucose level in type 2 diabetes mellitus |

Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of crude fiber diet on blood glucose of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).Methods A total of 78 patients with T2DM treated in Yunfu People′s Hospital,Guangdong Province from January 1 to June 30,2019 were selected.The patients were divided into the study group (37 cases) and the control group (41 cases)according to the admission odd-even number.On the premise that the total diet of the two groups was unchanged,the study group replaced staple food with 50% or more coarse dietary fiber every day,while the control group did not change their diet structure.Changes in blood glucose levels,glycated hemoglobin,and hypoglycemic complications were recorded.Results The four-segment blood glucose levels of the study group,including fasting,2 hours after breakfast,2 hours after lunch and 2 hours after dinner,were lower than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Before discharge,the glycated hemoglobin of study group was lower than that of control group,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The incidence of hypoglycemia in the study group was higher than that in the control group during hospitalization,there was no statistically significant difference (P>0.05).Conclusion The main crude fiber diet can effectively control the level of blood sugar in patients with diabetes;determination of curative effect of crude dietary fiber diet combined with medicine in treating diabetes.The incidence of hypoglycemic complications increased,so the main crude fiber diet is to do a good job to prevent hypoglycemic complications related measures to avoid the risk of serious hypoglycemia in hospitalized patients with diabetes.
