Abstract Objective To explore the application effect of electrocardiogram (ECG) positioning technology assistance in intravenous infusion port. Methods From February 2019 to February 2020,50 patients in the oncology department of our hospital who need to have intravenous infusion port were selected as the research objects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into the observation and control groups, 25 cases in each group. In the observation group, ECG positioning technology was used to assist in the placement of intravenous infusion port, while in the control group, the traditional blind puncture method was used. The accuracy of catheter tip location, operation time, complications and satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The accuracy of catheter tip location in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the operation time in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The total incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The total satisfaction of the patients in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion ECG positioning technology can improve the accuracy of intravenous infusion port, improve work efficiency and reduce the risk of complications, which is worthy of clinical recommendation.
