Abstract:Peripherally inserted central venous catheterization(PICC)is a common route for intravenous administration of tumor patients. However,PICC is an virulence and invasive operation. It will bring different degrees of discomfort to patients, especially for elderly patients with chemotherapy, which is likely to cause PICC related complications.PICC related venous thrombosis is one of the more serious complications. The formation of venous thrombosis is mainly associated with tumor catheter type, position of pipe, patient factors and nursing related factors. This article reviewed the risk factors and protective measures of venous thrombosis after PICC catheter placement in elderly patients undergoing chemotherapy. It can provide reference for effective prevention and reduction of thrombosis in clinic.
