Objective To construct a visual atlas of postoperative pain in patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures,to understand the research hotspots and trends in this field, and provide reference for future research. Methods Literatures on postoperative pain in patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures were retrieved from CNKI,Wanfang Database and Web of Science Core Collection Database from the establishment of the database to September 2023.CiteSpace R 5.6 software was used to visually analyze the annual publication volume, authors, institutions, countries, keywords and other content of the literature. Results A total of 1 072 articles were included, including 796 articles in Chinese and 276 articles in English.China was the country with the largest number of publications in this field, and Soochow University and the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University were the institutions with the largest number of publications in Chinese and English respectively.Except for the search terms, the most frequent keyword was"percutaneous vertebroplasty".Chinese literature formed 15 key word clusters and 11 burst terms. The burst terms in the past three years were " bone cement distribution" "Bushen Huoxue decoction " "degree of pain",etc. The English literature formed 14 keyword clusters and 7 burst terms. The burst term in the past three years was "risk factors".Conclusion The research in this field is developing and the core authors tend to be concentrated. The research hotspots at home and abroad are slightly different, and the future development trend mainly focuses on three directions: traditional Chinese medicine treatment of postoperative pain, optimization of surgical methods, and exploration of influencing factors and the prevention of them.
