Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of mindfulness therapy on stress response in depression patients treated with modified electroconvulsive therapy(MECT).Methods A total of 96 patients with depression treated with MECT in the Third People's Hospital of Maoming from July 2022 to April 2023 were selected as the research objects, and they were divided into study group and control group by random number table method, with 48 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing before treatment, and the study group received routine nursing combined with mindfulness therapy before treatment.Heart rate (HR)and systolic blood pressure (SBP) were monitored on the day of admission,30 minutes before treatment and 2 hours after treatment.Self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and Hamilton anxiety scale (HAMA) were used to measure the level of anxiety before intervention and 30 minutes before treatment. The stress response and improvement effect of anxiety state were compared between the two groups. Results Before the intervention, there were no significant differences in HR,SBP,SAS and HAMA scores between the two groups (P>0.05).After intervention,HR and SBP 30 minutes before treatment and 2 hours after treatment,SAS and HAMA 30 minutes before treatment in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P <0.05).Conclusion The application of mindfulness therapy can significantly improve the stress response and anxiety state of patients with depression undergoing MECT treatment, which is conducive to the smooth progress of MECT treatment and worthy of popularization and application.
