Effect of triple complementary intensive education on oral function exercise and quality of life in patients with head and neck cancer undergoing radiotherapy

Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of triple complementary intensive education on oral functional exercise and quality of life in patients with head and neck cancer undergoing radiotherapy.Methods A total of 70 patients with head and neck cancer who received radiation at Jiu Jiang NO.1 People's Hospital from February 2021 to August 2022 were selected as the research subjects,and they were divided into control group(35 cases)and observation group(35 cases)according to random number table method.The control group received routine nursing,while the observation group received triple complementary intensive education.The oral function exercise,quality of life and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups.Results After the intervention,the action evaluation and knowledge oral scores of the oral function exercise accuracy scale in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).After the intervention,the scores of various dimensions of physiological function,social function,physical function,and material life status of the generic quality of life inventory-74 (GQOL-74) scale in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).The total incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).Conclusion The triple complementary intensive education intervention for patients with head and neck cancer can significantly improve the accuracy of oral functional exercise,improve the quality of life,and reduce the risk of related complications.
