Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of self-made patient education tool in chronic disease patients with long-term use of prescription.Methods A total of 112 chronic patients with long-term prescription drug use admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi Medical College from January to December 2022 were selected as the study objects,and they were divided into control group(56 cases)and experimental group(56 cases)according to random number table method.The control group received routine education,while the experimental group received the self-made education tool.Both groups were intervened for 1 month.The medication safety behavior,medication compliance and rational medication efficacy of the two groups were compared.Results Before the intervention,there were no statistically significant differences in the decision-making participation score,caring participation score,appeal participation score and total score of the medication safety behavior scale and the score of self-efficacy for appropriate medication use scale(SEAMS)of patients between the two groups(P>0.05).After the intervention,the scores of decision-making participation,caring participation,appeal participation,total score and SEAMS score of the medication safety behavior scale of the two groups were higher than those before the intervention,and the scores of decision-making participation,caring participation,appeal participation,total score and SEAMS score of the medication safety behavior scale of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The medication compliance of experimental group was higher than that of control group,with statistically significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion The self-made patient education tool can improve the medication compliance of chronic disease patients with long-term use of prescription drugs,improve their medication safety behavior,and enhance the efficacy of rational drug use,which is worthy of promotion and application in medication education.
