Objective To explore the research situation in the field of perioperative application of enhanced recovery after surgery in orthopedic patients by bibliometric study. Methods Published literatures on perioperative application of enhanced recovery after surgery in orthopedic patients were retrieved from CNKI,Wanfang database, and CQVIP database from when the database was created to May 31,2023.COOC 12.6 software was used to merge and de-duplicate the data, count the number of annual publications, the number of author publications, and the number of journal publications, construct a year-by-year histogram of keywords, keyword emergence patterns, perform community cluster analysis of keywords, construct a co-occurrence matrix of authors and research institutions, and visualize them using COOC 12.6 software and VOS viewer 1.6.13 software. Results Totally 1 219 articles were included. The number of publications were steady upward in recent years which mainly published in the field of medicine and health science and technology.Six clusters of keywords were formed, elderly patients, perioperative complications in orthopedics and patients'long-term quality of life were new research hotspots in this field.Important scholars include LI Ting,WU Xinbao,QIU Guixing and LI Peifang, etc.The main research institutions were Beijing Jishuitan Hospital,West China Hospital of Sichuan University and Peking University Third Hospital. Conclusion Research on the perioperative application of enhanced recovery after surgery in orthopedic patients has developed steadily, but the research teams in this research area are relatively fixed and single, and the frontier areas need to be further explored and developed.
