Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of emotional ABC theory in rehabilitation nursing education for patients with shoulder periarthritis. Methods A total of sixty patients with shoulder periarthritis admitted to the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from March to October 2022 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into control group (30 cases) and observation group (30 cases) using random number table method. The control group received routine care, while the observation group received emotional ABC theory intervention on the basis of routine care. Both groups continued to receive intervention and observation for 2 months.Disease knowledge, mental state, shoulder function recovery and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results After intervention, the disease knowledge, the University of California at Los Angeles shoulder rating scale (UCLA) score and short form 36 health survey (SF-36) scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, with statistical significances(P<0.05).After intervention, the scores of self-rating depression scale (SDS) and self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) in observation group were lower than those in control group, with statistical significances (P<0.05).Conclusion Adopting emotional ABC theory intervention in rehabilitation nursing education for patients with shoulder periarthritis can improve their mastery of disease knowledge, alleviate their negative emotions, promote shoulder joint function recovery, and further improve their quality of life.
