Research progress in traditional Chinese medicine treatment of diabetic foot based on suppressor of cytokine signal/janus kinase/signal transducer and activators of transcription pathway

Abstract:Diabetic foot (DF) is a disease of interaction between peripheral neuropathy and vascular disease caused by long-term hyperglycemia.It is also an important cause of infections and even amputations.Inhibition of inflammatory pathways and promotion of shedding of necrotic tissue and healing of new tissue are the keys to treatment.The occurrence and development of DF mainly involves impaired angiogenesis,abnormal inflammatory response,neuropathy.Suppressor of cytokine signal(SOCS)can regulate the janus kinase/signal transducer and activators of transcription(JAK-STAT)pathway to inhibit related inflammatory pathways and promote the shedding of necrotic tissue and the healing of new tissue.It plays an important role in the occurrence and development of DF.A large number of literature studies show that traditional Chinese medicine has obvious advantages in DF prevention and treatment.Some Chinese medicines,Chinese herbal extracts and Chinese herbal compounds can regulate the SOCS signaling pathway,thereby improving the inflammatory damage of DF,and thus playing a protective role.In this paper,the research progress of SOCS pathway in DF and the intervention status of traditional Chinese medicine were reviewed in recent years,in order to provide new ideas for the treatment of DF and drug development research.
