Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Ginkgo Biloba Extract combined with Betastine in the treatment of acute unilateral vestibular hysfunction(UVH).Methods A total of 60 patients with acute UVH who were admitted to the Department of Otolaryngology and Vertigo Clinic of the Dalian Third People′s Hospital from October 2020 to April 2021 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into observation group and control group by random number table method,30 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were treated with Betahistine Mesylate Tablets and conventional vestibular rehabilitation, while patients in the observation group were treated with Ginkgo Biloba Extract Tablets on the basis of the control group. Both groups were treated for 1 month. The scores of dizziness rating scale(DHI),cold and heat test results and adverse reactions during treatment were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results There were no significant differences in semicircular canal paresis index(UW)and DHI score between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).The UW and DHI scores of the two groups after treatment were lower than those before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the DHI score and UW value of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The combined treatment of Ginkgo Biloba Extract and Betastine can significantly improve the dizziness symptoms of patients with acute unilateral vestibular dysfunction, with no obvious adverse reactions and high safety.
