Abstract: Objective To explore the clinical effect of different surgical approaches in the treatment of deep orbital cavernous hemangioma,and to provide reference for the selection of surgical approaches.Methods The clinical data of 30 patients with deep orbital cavernous hemangioma who were operated in Shenyang Fourth People′s Hospital from September 2016 to November 2018 were collected retrospectively.According to the different surgical approaches,they were divided into group A (n=17),group B (n=19),group C (n=21) and group D (n=26).Group A,group B,group C and group D were treated by conjunctival approach,lateral approach,skin approach and lateral combined with medial conjunctival approach,respectively.The visual acuity improvement,tumor residual rate and total incidence of postoperative complications among the four groups were compared.Results There was no significant difference in the improvement of visual acuity among the four groups (P>0.05).There was no significant difference in tumor residual rate among the four groups (P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of postoperative complications among the four groups (P>0.05).Conclusion Different surgical approaches have different advantages and disadvantages in the treatment of deep orbital cavernous hemangioma.It is necessary to evaluate the development of the tumor in combination with imaging diagnosis in order to select the best approach and ensure the operation effect.
