Abstract:Objective To explore the impact of gymnastic exercises during pregnancy on maternal and neonatal outcomes for primiparas, and provide evidence for instructing pregnant women performing gymnastic exercises. Methods From October 1 to December 31,2017,a total of 136 health primiparas performed routine labor tests in the Jiangxi Maternal and Child Health Hospital, who volunteered to participate in this study as the research subjects, and they were divided into a study group (n=68) and a control group (n=68) according to the random number table method. The control group received routine physical examination and health education without systematic exercise, the study group was intervened by a specific gymnastics exercise on the basis of control group.Face-to-face interview and phone interview were carried out to collect related information at the beginning of the study and the participants gave birth one week later. Results A total of 124 primiparas completed the study,68 primiparas in the control group and 56 primiparas in the study group.Pregnancy weight gain in the study group was less than that in the control group, and the incidence of complications in the study group was lower than that in the control group, the rates of breastfeeding and natural delivery in the study group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of premature and neonatal weight (P>0.05).The first and second birth process time of primiparas in the study group who were natural delivery (n=44) was shorter than that in the control group (n=40),the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage between the two groups of primiparas gave birth naturally(P>0.05).Conclusion The results of this study showed that insist performing gymnastic exercises during pregnancy can improve maternal and neonatal health outcomes. These findings can be important for medical staff to instruct pregnant women performing gymnastic exercises regularly during pregnancy.
