Abstract:Objective To explore the influence of continuous nursing based on big data platform on improving the functional recovery and quality of life of elderly patients with total hip arthroplasty (THA). Methods A total of 80 elderly patients who underwent THA in the Department of Joint Surgery of Pingxiang People′s Hospital from January 2020 to July 2021 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into the study group and the control group by random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. Patients in the control group received routine postoperative care for THA patients, while patients in the study group received extended care based on big data platform on the basis of routine postoperative care. The fracture healing time and hospital stay of the two groups were statistically analyzed.Functional recovery (Harris hip function scale [HHS]), quality of life (activities of daily living scale [ADL]) and selfevaluation (general self-efficacy scale [GSES]) before and 6 months after intervention, and complications at 6 months after intervention were compared before intervention and 3 and 6 months after intervention. Results The fracture healing time and hospital stay of the study group were shorter than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Before intervention, there were no significant differences in HHS, ADL and GSES scores between the two groups (P>0.05). At 3 and 6 months after intervention, the HHS scores of patients in the two groups were higher than those before intervention, and the HHS scores of patients in the study group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The HHS scores of the two groups at 6 months after intervention were higher than those at 3 months after intervention, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Six months after intervention, the GSES score of the study group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). At 6 months after intervention, the ADL scores of patients in the two groups were lower than those before intervention, and the ADL scores and incidence of complications in the study group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Continuous nursing based on big data platform can effectively shorten the diagnosis and treatment time, promote the postoperative functional recovery, improve the postoperative quality of life and self-evaluation and reduce the occurrence of postoperative complications of elderly patients with total hip arthroplasty.
