Objective To investigate the application effect of self-massage at home and family-assisted eyeball massage in patients with glaucoma after trabeculectomy. Methods A total of 50 glaucoma patients admitted to Jiujiang University Affiliated Hospital from December 2020 to January 2022 were selected as the research objects, and they were divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number table method, with 25 cases in each group. The control group received family-assisted eyeball massage, while the observation group received selfmassage eyeball at home. Both groups continued massage for 3 months. The surgical success rate, nursing compliance and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The operation success rate and total nursing compliance rate of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). The scores of eye feeling, operation technique, massage method and health guidance in the nursing satisfaction of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). Conclusion After glaucoma trabeculectomy, the patients themselves have higher compliance with home self-massage nursing, which can effectively control the patient′s intraocular pressure level, help to improve the success rate of surgery, and promote postoperative rehabilitation and nursing satisfaction of patients.
