Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effect of acupoint application combined with auricular plaster therapy in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Methods A total of 60 patients with COPD treated in Leping Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital between July and December 2021 were selected as research objects. They were divided into control group (n=30) and observation group (n=30) by random number table method. Patients in control group were given conventional drug treatment. On this basis, patients in observation group were given acupoint application combined with auricular plaster therapy. The therapeutic effect, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease assessment test (CAT) scores, 6-minute walk test (6MWT) and lung function indicators (forced expiratory volume in one second [FEV1], forced vital capacity [FVC]) were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the total response rate in observation group (93.33%) was higher than that in control group (70.00%), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the 6MWT, FEV1and FVC in observation group were higher than those in control group, and the CAT score in observation group was lower than that in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Acupoint application combined with auricular plaster therapy is effective in the treatment of patients with COPD, which can improve lung function, activity endurance, and quality of life of the patients.
